Large Balloon Objects & Spatial Design– Balloons that create views no one has seen before –

We create large balloon objects and spatial designs
anywhere in Japan.

For companies and research institutions like that,
balloon objects are an option worth considering.

A 36 m underwater object, a 13 m rocket, a 6 m wide crab. A giant balloon appearing in a venue stops people in their tracks, sparks curiosity, and naturally makes them think, “I want to see it” and “I want to go.”

Open days, press events, exhibitions.
You want to reach new people, but your message isn’t getting through.

If that’s your challenge, we suggest balloon objects as a new way to use your advertising budget.

Mika Suhara, who has taken part in the world championships as a team member, builds on her skills and sense for large sculpture to turn the appeal of your work into something people understand at a glance.

Besides large objects, we also offer live balloon-making performances at events, and simple balloon art gifts for visitors (balloon greeting).

Watching a balloon take shape right in front of you has a strange charm that makes adults and kids alike stop and stare.
Put the power of balloons to work to draw crowds and liven up your venue.

Our work answers that

Seeing is believing, so please take a look at the large objects Lovedup Balloons has actually made.
The numbers and places show the scale of what we do.

Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo

A large balloon object
themed on the world under the sea

A piece made for the request to “express a research theme from the University of Tokyo in balloons.”
36 m tall is about the height of a 12-story apartment building.

The National Art Center, Tokyo

A large balloon object inspired by the Kappa-6 rocket

A large installation in the museum’s atrium that balances structural strength with artistic finish.

Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo

Balloon objects inspired by a flying wheelchair and a Meiji-era microscope

Made on the theme of showing research results to the public in a form they can see.

Where science meets balloons.

“Sea and Hope School Festival,” Kamaishi City, Iwate

A new species of Oyotsuhamogani crab, about 4 cm in real life, enlarged into a balloon object over 4 m

Made for an event themed on the local sea.

“Large balloon object” covers a surprisingly wide range of things we can make.
Based on the requests we often receive, here is a summary of what Lovedup Balloons can do.

Turning themes and logos into 3D shapes

Company logos, research themes, characters, local symbols

If it has a shape, we can make it in 3D with balloons.
How to turn a flat design into a solid form, with the right mix of materials and structure, is where our skills shine.

If you’re wondering, “Can you make this shape?”, just get in touch.

Filling an entire space with balloons

We wrap an entire entrance in balloons.

We hang balloons from the ceiling for an immersive feel,
or create a photo spot people can step inside.

Balloons don’t just sit in a space. They can change the space itself.
That is what Lovedup Balloons does best.

Designed and built for outdoors, too

If you’d like balloons for an outdoor event, please ask us.

Outdoor installation needs a structure designed for wind load and careful anchoring, but in most cases we can make it work with a site visit and planning in advance. Please ask us first.

Latex balloons are basically for indoor use. Outdoors, we use vinyl deco balloons instead. Delicate objects can be difficult outdoors.

Multi-day and long-term displays

Not only one-day events: we also handle displays lasting several days and long-term installations at commercial facilities.

The University of Tokyo’s open campus runs over several days every year, and they have asked us back for 15 years.

With the right materials and maintenance plan, we keep long-term displays looking their best.

A large “○○th anniversary” object at the center of an anniversary party, stock code balloons for an IPO celebration, a landmark photo spot for an exhibition booth.

When you need something that catches the eye the moment people enter, a large object works best.
In fact, clients have told us that at exhibition booths with a balloon object, visitors naturally gathered to take photos, which led to business conversations.

We have decorated many school occasions, including school festivals, open campus events, culture festivals and graduations.

With photo spots and venue decoration, we give people a reason to come and take pictures, and help you show the themes you want to share, such as research, club activities and community projects, in a visual way.

We work with educational institutions of every size, from universities and vocational schools to high schools and junior high schools.

National Museum of Nature and Science: a 3 m wave crashing in, with an eel riding it

We have created large installations at The National Art Center, Tokyo and the National Museum of Nature and Science.

We design and build spatial installations that match the exhibition theme, the kind visitors can’t resist photographing.

Shared on social media, they also bring in more visitors during the exhibition.

We have created large objects for regional revitalization events.

Large sculptures themed on local symbols or nature give residents and tourists a memorable experience.
They also work as seasonal photo spots at commercial facilities. “Did you see that balloon?” spreads on social media and helps raise awareness of local events.

Mika Suhara has taken part in an international competition where balloon artists from around the world compete on the finish and composition of large sculptures.

Building on large-sculpture know-how honed on that international stage, we design with the space, safety, set-up flow and even how it looks from below all in mind.

Mika Suhara is directly involved in large projects. She takes part in every step: the hearing, design, supervision of on-site work and quality control.

So you never end up thinking, “We commissioned a big project, and a stranger showed up,” we make the project team clear from the start.

We are based in Tokyo and Kanagawa, and we travel anywhere in Japan.

We have installed work as far away as Kyushu and Tohoku, so please ask us even about distant events.
Tell us the place, scale and schedule, and we’ll include travel costs in the quote.

STEP

Contact & free consultation

Reach us by phone, LINE or our email form.
Telling us what you want to make, when and where you’ll use it, and your maximum budget makes the first conversation smooth. Consultations are free.

STEP

Hearing & site visit

For large projects, we always meet in person.
We check the venue size, ceiling height, load-in route and the structure of the installation area on site. This step is the first move toward a safe, polished installation.

STEP

Sharing the design image

Based on the hearing and site check, we submit a design. We shape it step by step, from a rough idea like “something like this” to a detailed design, and revise it until you’re satisfied.

STEP

Final design & quote

Once the design is set, we submit the final design and quote.

The quote includes everything: materials, production, travel, set-up and removal.

STEP

Set-up on the day

On the day, Mika Suhara is on site and leads the set-up.
We plan ahead so everything from load-in to assembly and installation runs on schedule.

STEP

After the event: removal

After the event, we remove everything and restore the venue.
We also take care of carrying out and disposal.

  • For large projects, we recommend contacting us at least 3 months before the event. There are many steps: hearing, site visit, design proposal, review, ordering, production and set-up preparation.
  • Contacting us early leads directly to a more polished result. If your event is soon, please call us first.

How big can you make it?

Our largest work so far is 36 m tall (Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo).

However, the maximum size depends on the venue’s structure, ceiling height and load-in route.
If you have a size in mind, please ask us. We’ll answer after checking the site.

Is there a price guide?

The cost of a large balloon object varies widely with size, complexity of shape, number of display days, distance to the venue and number of staff.
So we don’t have a fixed price list.

Everything is made to order with a quote. Please contact us first, and we’ll prepare a quote after hearing the details. Consultations are, of course, free.

*Costs vary greatly with size and detail, but as a guide, please expect from ¥1,000,000. Feel free to ask for details.

Can you work outdoors?

Yes, we can.

Outdoor work needs a design that accounts for wind load, anchoring and weather-resistant materials.
We have outdoor experience, and for outdoor installations a site check is especially important.

How far ahead should we contact you?

For large projects, we recommend contacting us at least 3 months before the event.
There are many steps: hearing, site visit, design proposal, review, ordering, production and set-up preparation.

Contacting us early leads directly to a more polished result. Even if your event is soon, please call us first.

Do you handle removal and carrying out?

Yes, we handle everything through removal and restoring the venue.
Removing and disposing of large objects takes careful planning, so the same team that set it up takes responsibility for it.

Budget, date or venue not decided yet? That’s fine.
Start by telling us what you have in mind.
